Barbara Schwarzer Fashion Show

yesterday i was invited to the barbara schwarzer fashion show in düsseldorf. as i live and work in this city of corse i knew her and her work as she is quite known here.

i love her feminine hallmark, the flattering fabrics and subtle colors. she understands how to make a woman stand out without obtruding, make her look mature and gentle.
this collection was quite casual as she is is known for her gorgeous evening wear which came little short in this collection.

i think this woman is a big deal for düsseldorfs fashion world and so it was just the perfect choice to let her open this weekends 'platform fashion' event which accompanies the fashion fair 'the gallery'.

the 1957 born designer lives and works in düsseldorf/germany.

she founded her label in 1997 which has 3 underlines called 'augustat', 'angie' and 'barbara schwarzer'. last one is the highest-grossing and known all over the world.

her style is characterized by classic elegance. she doesn't follow each new trend and focuses on her own understanding of a chic and timeless elegance.

this weekend is packed with fashion shows and i'm quite happy to be a part of this event. i'll keep you updated and show you what my fashion city düsseldorf has to offer! thumbs up for german fashion!

MET Ball 2013 - Punk: Chaos to Couture

here i have the best outfits from the met ball 2013 for you. this years theme was punk, and the pictures i've choosen for you show the celebs which i think came close to the topic with their interpretation. i think most of them got inspired by the gothic-punk scene, lots of black smoky eyes and dramatic dresses with tons of lace.
enjoy the pictures and get insprired ^^
(just click the picture to enlarge it)

my winner of the night: sarah jessica parker!
mein gewinner des abends: sarah jessica parker!

and some who really missed the point and were off topic, yet gorgeous looking

i think sarah jessica parker really stole the show, though i personally didn't like the dress and boots. but i think her outfit was both, punk and couture.

i think there were some gorgeous and some not so gorgeous outfits at the met ball this year, and some really didn't get the point at all. like gwyneth paltrow and cameron diaz, which both looked amazing, but just pink or blue doesn't make you a punk, and so they missed the whole theme.
also anna wintour looked great in her dress like always, n though it was a vogue party she didn't really cover the topic. well let's be honest, not at all.
solange knowles looked cute in her 70's look, and allthough the punk movement comes from that time, she looked more hippie than punk.

i really liked cara delevignes look, though i missed a bit couture on it. but i think she somehow has a quite modern touch of punk attitude, which you can sometimes guess by the glint in her eyes and which is clearly visible on the pictures of that night.
jennifer lopez looked AMAZING! i love it! she looked like a hot cheetah, n i think with her hair, which was a very sleek interpretation of an iroquoise, she added the punky touch. it was her interpretation n i think there is not more punk in jlo to find than that.
i somehow liked carine roitfelds dress with the bambi print on black lace, though my first thought was something like 'whats this?'. but isn't that the whole point about punk?! thinkin ' what the heck is that?'

so all in all, most of them did a quite good job. most decided to travel the safe road n drapped themself in lace or added some spikes and leather, and not to forget the dramatic black smokey eyes.

what's your fave? and why? do you think the celebs and their stylists did a good job this year?
